During the Q&A for a UCLA program, U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman said the most important issue to be resolved in the U.S. Senate regarding climate change legislation is to just pass a bill. “Any bill that passes can go to the (joint House-Senate) conference on all issues.”

Waxman did note that the ACES (HR 2454) targets for greenhouse gas reductions are based on science and he is concerned that there will be efforts in the Senate to reduce those targets. As he and others have said before, if we don’t act now and achieve those reductions, it won’t matter what we do because the effects will be irreversible.

So, please urge your Senators to support some kind of climate change bill!
